Pangkalan Bun is the capital of the Kotawaringin Barat regency, in the western part of Central Kalimantan. This is the entry point to reach Tanjung Puting Park in the southern part, and the Dayak villages in the north of Central Kalimantan Province. The best place in Indonesia to see Orangutans in their natural habitat is undoubtedly Tanjung Puting National Park. In recent times it has grown in popularity with foreign tourists, and airlines have responded with increased flight options and frequencies to the nearest city or airport in Pangkalan Bun. The airport named Iskandar Airport provides several flights: Surabaya, Semarang, and Jakarta. About 30 miles from Pangkalan Bun you will enter Camp Leakey. The place for study and conservation of Orangutans. To reach this area, you should cross the Sekonyer river. The site has expanded from the original hut in 1971. Its facilities, supported by the Orangutan Foundation International, are a part of the Tanjung Puting National Park.
DAY 01. PANGKALAN BUN – TANJUNG HARAPAN.(D)
Upon arrival at pangkalanbun meeting services and proceed to Kumai river for 2 hours cruise to Tanjung Harapan. Afternoon tours are available to watch wild animals such as; crocodiles, orangutans., probosci’s monkeys, and birds. Meals provided and overnight at Klotok.
DAY 02. TANJUNG HARAPAN – PONDOK TANGGUI – CAMP LEAKY. (BLD)
Breakfast at Klotok then 1-hour cruise to Pondok Tanggui for II state to observe feeding time at 07.00 by short trekking, then up to Camp Leaky for 2 hours cruise for watching the wild and semi-wild of Orangutans. Meals provided and overnight at Klotok.
DAY 03. TANJUNG HARAPAN – PESALAT
Breakfast at Lodge then visiting Pesalat area the rehabilitation of reforestation, this area has been developed for re-introducing the rain forest and reintroduction of the orangutans especially for the babies of orangutans. Meals and overnight at Klotok
DAY 04. TANJUNG HARAPAN – PANGKALAN BUN
Breakfast at Klotok then returns to Pangkalanbun for your return flight next destination.
