Raja Ampat Diving

Raja Ampat is a group of island comprising over 1.500 small islands located in the western tip of West Papua. The name of Raja Ampat, Four Kings, represented four major islands in the archipelago Waigeo, Misol, Batanta, and Salawati. Raja Ampat is known to have the richest marine biodiversity on earth, the home of 75% world’s marine species with over 550 species of coral, 1,427 fish species and more than 700 different types of mollusks. Not only underwater, but wildlife and landscape are also equally breathtaking. Raja Ampat is the home of various bird species including the bird of paradise.

HOW TO GET THERE FROM BALI

SORONG is the jump-off point to explore Raja Ampat. The airport of Sorong (SOQ) doesn’t serve international flight. There is no direct flight available from Bali to Sorong. Connecting flight available with an overnight layover in Makasar airport (Sriwijaya Airlines 5.30pm – 6.25am). Direct flight with international transit available in Jakarta (CGK), Makasar (UPG) and Manado (MDC). From Sorong, the journey will be continued by speedboat (travel duration depends on island destination). Another optional starting point is Waisai of the island of Waigeo – the capital of Raja Ampat regency. Waisai is reachable by flight from Manado and Sorong and by Ferry from Sorong.

ACCOMMODATION

As you might have noticed that the Raja Ampat island group spreads out over a huge area and consists of over 1500 islands. We recommend staying in the central part of Raja Ampat, located near incredible dive sites and popular tourist attractions.

BEST TIME TO VISIT

Best time of the year to dive in Raja Ampat is during dry season period (October – April) for calmer sea and best visibility. Due to the tropical climate, rain can unpredictably fall even on dry season period.

TRANSFER REGULATION

Due to the high cost of transfer, most of the dive resorts apply 8 days 7 nights standard booking. The transfer service standard following to resort regulation is free of charge while NON-standard transfer is on extra cost (up to EURO 600.00/transfer from Sorong and EURO 110.00/person from Waisai).

Duration: 5 Days 4 nights

DAY 1 SORONG ARRIVAL (L,D)
Upon arrival at Domine Edward Osok Aiport of Sorong, you will be met and transferred to ferry
port to board the public ferry. The ferry from Sorong to Waisai (capital city of Raja Ampat)
depart at 2:00 pm daily. Early departure available on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9:00 am
(subject to change). From Waisai to Raja Ampat Dive Lodge we will transfer you by speed boat.
It takes around 45 minutes.

DAY 2 KABUI BAY (B, L, D)
After breakfast we start the tour by speed boat. In Kabui you can see group of coral islands in
different sizes. Passing the bay you will enjoy the beauty of the coral islands in blue water. At
low tide you can visiting Pasir Timbul for snorkeling or taking pictures before going to Kabui. We
will serve breakfast and dinner at the resort. Meanwhile lunch will be provided during the trip.

DAY 3 PIANEMO ISLAND (B,L,D)
Pianemo or Penemu island looks like Wayag but smaller. We will start the tour after breakfast.
Bring your shoes as you have to climb up the hill through sharp and hard coral rocks about 20
minutes to get on the top. Later visiting Arborek Village to see the activities of the local people
or buying handicraft. Breakfast and dinner at the resort, lunch will be provided during the trip.

DAY 4 BIRD WATCHING AND FISH FEEDING (B, L, D)
You will enjoy the cool morning with Cenderawasih bird dancing. We will arrange the tour to
Sawingray village for bird watching and fish feeding. Early morning start at 5:30 am and return
to the resort at around 9 am.

DAY 5 RAJA AMPAT DIVE LODGE – SORONG (B)
After early breakfast, we transfer you to Sorong by speedboat and proceed to airport for your
onward flight.
